Rocks Restaurant
There can be few dining rooms that command vistas quite like those of our two AA Rosette Rocks Restaurant. Wherever you decide to sit, you’ll have spectacular views of Combesgate beach and out over the rolling surf. It’s west facing too, which means you can enjoy glorious sunsets as a side order to your meal!
Here you can feast on classic English dishes with a modern European twist and with the sea on one side and North Devon countryside on the other, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to premium quality local ingredients. So, expect plenty of delicious Exmoor venison and lamb and day boat caught fish from Brixham on the menu.
We offer daily specials in addition to the a la carte menu and our dishes are complemented by an extensive wine list.
An increasingly popular offering among residents and visitors alike is our Sunday Roast Menu served from 12 – 5 pm and 6 pm – 9 pm. A unique take on a quintessentially British tradition, reservations are strongly advised!
Our Head Chef
Born and raised in Barnstaple, our amazing head chef, John Cairns, has worked at some of the finest eateries in North Devon, including the Michelin starred Olive Room in Ilfracombe
Joining our team actually saw him come full circle, as he first worked at Watersmeet as chef de partie back in 2014!
John is passionate about supporting local produce and suppliers, so expect to find plenty of North Devon’s finest ingredients at the heart of his beautifully presented dishes.
The Terrace
At the heart of Watersmeet is our stunning al fresco terrace spread across two levels and offering arguably one of the finest vistas in England.
Weather permitting, here you can enjoy breakfast and lunch in the sunshine (and drink in the spectacular views at the same time) or perhaps partake of that classic Devon tradition, a cream tea!
